Description: The Maharishi School is a college preparatory boarding school in Iowa which also has a day school program. It's quite a unique school because it provides Consciousness-based education for students on every grade level. The school adds two components which are not usually found in the traditional educational system; The Transcendental Medication program and the Science of Creative Intelligence.

Transcendental Meditation is a simple and effortless technique which is something people from different religions and cultures practice. Students are taught how to enter a deep level of rest while the mind remains to be in an alert state. The beneft is that the mind becomes more orderly and coherent, stress levels go down, and the mind becomes a lot more efficient.

The Science of Creative Intelligence, on the other hand, is a supplementary course that makes all fields of knowledge more meaningful. This course involves uncovering the laws of nature at work behind the different fields of study. Students gain a deeper understanding of what they are studying, whether it's math, science, art, music, or other subjects.

Students are able to enjoy being educated through the first certified Nature Explore Classroom in the state. Students are able to develop a sense of wonder, respect, and love for nature. The aesthetically developed outdoor spaces of the school include Treasure Cove, Tree House Theater, Sparkling Springs, and more. The school's cafeteria serves only organic, vegetarian meals as a commitment to the health of the students.

The school offers several interscholastic sports like baseball, golf, tennis, track and field, and various other healthy outdoor activities. Extracurricular organizations include International Club, Speech Club, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and many more.

The school is accredited by Small Boarding School Association; Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS).
