Nevada is a largely desert, semi-arid state which is located in the southwestern region of the United States of America. It's one of the most extensive states in the country, although it's not densely populated. Most of its population lives in the Las Vegas area.

The racial distribution of the population in Nevada is composed mainly of White Americans (65%), Hispanics (20%). A small percentage of the population is composed of African Americans (7.1%), Asian Americans (6%), and other ethnic groups such as American Indians among others. Many immigrants from other countries were drawn to the gold rush in California, and a lot of them settled in Nevada, in the Las Vegas area. Today, the Asian American communities in Nevada is some of the largest in the country. The most prevalent of the Asian American community is the Filipino Americans which makes up over half the Asian Americans of Nevada's population.
