| Description: | St. Croix is a day and boarding college preparatory school in Minnesota after the Lutheran tradition. Compared with other boarding schools that have the same quality of academic programs, St. Croix is relatively more affordable. While other private boarding schools' tuition fees can cost around 30,000-40,000 USD, St. Croix averages only around $20,000 per year, inclusive of all fees. Many of St. Croix's students either stay with host families, live in dormitories on the school ground or commute from Minneapolis or St. Paul. About 20% of the school's population is made up of international students and the school provides support for students who need to improve their English language skills through their ESL classes. The school's experienced and dedicated faculty members also make it possible to support students with learning differences, ADD/ADHD, and language-based learning disabilities. Students can also take advantage of the school's Learning Resource Center. This center's purpose is to meet the learning needs of students and to help them achieve academic success while at the same time upholding Christian values and traditions. The school is a member of the TriMetro Conference and competes on Varsity levels. Students are encouraged to participate in athletics, no matter what the level of proficiency may be. The goal of the school's athletic departments is to help students develop and use their God-given athletic abilities and to foster relationships based on healthy competition. Students are also encouraged to strive for excellence and achievement through sports as well as to enjoy the fun of being part of a team. Some of the sports programs being offered include golf, tennis, cross country, swimming, basketball, hockey, baseball, softball and many more. St. Croix also has a great arts program where students learn about the fundamentals of different kinds of art forms and how they influence perception and even the history of different cultures. Students can learn drawing, pottery, ceramics, painting, and others. The school is accredited by State of Minnesota and United States Government. |
