Idaho is a mountainus state located in the northwestern part of the USA. It's in the Rocky Mountain region of the country and has one of the most extensive land areas. Aside from being one of the bigger states in terms of land area, it's also one of the least densely populated. Idaho is a landlocked state, being surrounded by Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Oregon, Nevada, and British Columbia (Canada).
Idaho is rich in natural resources, particularly in minerals and gemstones. It's actually called the Gem State because nearly every kind of precious gemstones can be mined here. It's also known for yielding the highest volume of potatoes in the country.
Because of Idaho's varied landforms, it also has a wide variation in its climates. Summers can be humid, winters can be very cold, and lots of precipitation can be expected because of its proximity to the Pacific Ocean.
The Idaho Board ofEducation oversees public school education in the state. There are quite a few colleges and universities that can be found here. The first university to be founded in the state is the University of Idaho. Other colleges and unversities include the Boise State University, Boise Bible College, Lewis-Clark State College, Eastern Idaho Technical College and many others.
There are also quite a few Idaho boarding schools like the Northwest Academy which is a coeducational therapeutic boarding school for troubled teens. They normally deal with teens who have academic performance issues, have problems with defiance, aggression, oppositional behavior, and other issues. There's also the Boulder Creek Academy which is also a therapeutic boarding school for girls and boys aged 13 to 18, and Clearview Horizon which also a therapeutic boarding schools but it's exclusively for girls. Because of Idaho's idyllic surroundings, it's an ideal place for students who may benefit from the more peaceful, more focused and therapeutic environment of a boarding school.
