| Description: | Riverside is one of the country's top military, all-boys college preparatory boarding schools. Riverside is dedicated to preparing young men for college and for life. The school aims to provide a structure that serves to enhance the learning experience of students while they are in school. After the military tradition, students are also encouraged to excel in a group as well as they excel individually. The spirit of camaraderie and brotherhood is something that they gain and take with them long after the students leave school. Students of Riverside are given the rght tools and guidance to meet the academic challenges they are given. They are expected to live up to a high standard of honor and conduct after the military tradition. They are also encouraged to become involved in positive, character-building activities such as performing and visual arts, clubs, and athletics. The small class sizes of Riverside Military Academy, coupled with frequent accountability for one's activities, enables young students to achieve their fullest academic potential. The school also offers college-level courses for students who think they are ready for a more rigorous academic challenge, at the same time enabling them to earn units they can use after high school. Over 70% of the school's teaching faculty hold master's degrees or higher, and all are dedicated to cultivating a love for knowledge in students. Riverside's college counseling also helps in the college application process. The school's track record is extremely good; they have a 100 percent acceptance record for students who applied to colleges and universities. Some of the top colleges and universities entered by their graduates include the North Georgia College & State University, U.S. Military Academy - Westpoint, U.S. Naval Academy, Florida State University, and others. The school's athletic department has different types of sports that students can participate in including wrestling, track and field, baseball, drill team, fencing, golf, and many more. Other extracurricular activities include Boy Scouts of America, Drama Group, Honor Council, Debate Team, National Honor Society, and many others. |
