| Description: | The Florida Air Academy is a military college preparatory school in Florida which boasts of 100% college acceptance rate, low teacher-student ratio and small class sizes. The curriculum includes flight training, aeronautics, scuba training (and certification), drum and bugle, and other similar classes. Extracurricular activities also include model rocketry, Civil Air Patrol, among others. The school's academic program makes sure that students are sufficiently prepared for continued college or university education. The school's college preparatory program is designed to provide a comprehensive course in each grade level of high school students. The counselor meets with students personally in order to provide an individualized approach on studying college-related information and making a successful application to the college of their choice. The school also holds college information workshops for the applicants as well as their parents. The College Information Fair gives students an opportunity to learn more about over 100 colleges and universities and to gain useful information on the admissions process. The school also has other summer programs such as the American Travel Experience where students can enjoy the different sights, sounds, and culinary culture in some of America's most famous cities. There's also the American Experience which is 13 days of education and recreation where students can participate in a wide range of fun activities. The Florida Air Academy also has a good sports program which all students are required to join. There are different sports to choose from like baseball, basketball, drill team, golf, and many more. The school's athletic teams, the Falcons, have brought home several State Championships in different sports like baseball, basketball and track and field for both boys and girls. There are also several extracurricular programs students can join such as drama club, flight club, surfing, dance club, National Honor Society (for cadets in grades 10 to 12 who have a cumulative average of 3.5 or better) and many others. |
