Teen Boarding Schools in Connecticut
Connecticut is a New England state and is considered to be one of the smallest states in the US. It's the third least extensive state, although it's one of the most densely populated areas in the US. Connecticut has a strong maritime tradition, thanks to being bisected by the Connecticut River and surrounded by other rivers like Thames River, Mystic River, Pawcatuck River, etcetera.
Connecticut has what can be classified as a humid continental climate. The areas near the shoreline usually have humid subtropical climate. The state experiences pretty cold winters. Because of its proximity to bodies of water, they also have plentiful rainfalls. Summers, on the other hand, can be quite hot and humid.
Connecticut's most famous educational institution by far is Yale University, which is one of the most prestigious, most selective universities in the country. There are also other colleges and universities in the state as well as a number of school districts.
There are also several Connecticut boarding schools worth noting. It's one of the very few states in the US which has junior boarding schools. There's The Rectory (which accepts students grades 5-9) and Rumsey Hall (which accepts students grades 6 to 9). There aren't very many other junior boarding schools in the US. Rumsey Hall and The Rectory strive to keep their teacher to student ratio between 1:4 to 1:5, and to give young students the tools they need to prepare for the next chapter of their academic life.
There are also several religious boarding schools like the Canterbury School and several traditional college preparatory boarding schools like Choate Rosemary Hall which is also one of the boarding schools with the most number of extracurricular activities in the country.
