Therapeutic Boarding Schools are the type of schools which focuses on students who normally have problems regarding their behavior and emotions, difficulties with learning, substance abuse and others. Their purpose is to prepare struggling teens for college and teach them how to cope with life’s challenges. Each therapeutic boarding school offers different programs, approaches and techniques in dealing with their students but their intentions are all the same - Helping the troubled youth help themselves.   • Montcalm School for Boys and Girls - Albion, Michigan. Supports teen experiencing conflicts in the family, with Asperger’s,  LD, ODD and substance abuse problems.
  • Northwest Academy - Naples, Idaho. Caters to much older at-risk teens who are defiant, with poor school performance, depressed and abusive of alcohol and drugs.
  • Oakley School - Oakley, Utah. Designed to students with problem behaviors willing to change and be challenged in becoming more positive and improve themselves.
  • Ridge Creek School - Dahlonega, Georgia. Supports students with  ODD, ADHD, low self-esteem, who makes poor choices and experiencing family problems.
  • Santiam Crossing School - Scio, Oregon. Helping the youth with emotional issues, attachment and adoption issues, academic and family problems and others.
  • The Discovery School of Virginia - Dillwyn, Virginia. Having separate campuses for boys and girls, they guide teens with emotional, drug and alcohol and behavior problems.
  • Turning Winds Academic Institute - Troy, Montana. Offers help to students with mental health and psychosocial needs and provides them with the appropriate treatment plan.   • Ponca Pines Academy - Omaha, Nebraska. Offers therapy programs to young girls with problems in school, family, low self-esteem, substance abuse and mental health issues.

In choosing the appropriate therapeutic boarding school for your teens, always consider what their needs are. Do they require help with regards to their academic and learning difficulties?
