| Description: | The Orme School of Arizona is a coeducational college preparatory boarding school for students grades 8-12, plus a few postgraduate classes. The school has honors courses in most departments which allows students to proceed with their academic track at a faster pace through special classes that are more challenging and have greater depth than regular classes. Some students in Honors and AP courses who qualify in national examinations may even get credits that are carried over to their college years. This beautiful, 360-acre campus provides a perfect spot for many sports and arts programs for students. Students can learn horsemanship and they can get involved in sports like basketball, baseball, volleyball, cheerleading, and more. They can also join different clubs like the drama club, choral, international club, and more. The school puts a lot of emphasis on teaching children sustainability and showing them real-world scenarios and how to gain the confidence to deal with these situations. They also use outdoor or experiential education to help children understand responsible risk-taking and help form keen decision-making skills. In addition to the challenging academic curriculum, the school also offers ESL courses for international students who want to be able to take classes only taught in the English language. The campus provides diversity in the student body, with 30% of the students belonging to the international community. The school is accredited by North Cental Accreditation, National Association of Independent Schools, The Association of Boarding Schools, Western Association of Boarding Schools, Cum Laude Society, and the National Honors Society |
