| Program Info: | The Academy is designed to help students with average to gifted intelligence who are functioning below grade level. In many cases these students have mild to moderate learning disabilities. In the Academy we help students "learn how to learn." Small class sizes are the first step. From first to sixth grade there are no more than 12 children with a teacher, a full time teacher assistant and a masters level reading instructor who accompanies the curriculum. All teachers are learning disabled certified, teaching in the field of their bachelors, masters or doctorate degrees. Lower school students at the Academy receive highly individualized instruction. The academic curriculum is "tailor made" according to each child's particular strengths and weaknesses. |
